The Origin Story: Mugshots to Microphones
Amanda and Kori first met while working together at a county jail — because, apparently, nothing says “lifelong friendship” like fluorescent lighting, swing shifts, and way too much bad coffee. What started as surviving long hours and sharing eye rolls over the daily chaos quickly turned into something more — genuine connection, shared laughter, and a bond built on trust (and maybe a little dark humor).
Over the years, their friendship has seen it all — career changes, cross-country moves, and a growing collection of inside jokes that probably shouldn’t be repeated in public. Their shared fascination with true crime and human behavior eventually sparked the idea for Colorado Crime, where they combine their real-world experience, curiosity, and banter to bring listeners thoughtful, honest, and occasionally laugh-out-loud looks at the cases that captivate us all.
Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m a wife, mom, true crime addict, dog lover, and REALTOR® — but behind the mic, I’m the voice of Colorado Crime, where I dive into the haunting, fascinating, and unforgettable stories that shape our communities.
When I’m not chauffeuring my kids to baseball or gymnastics, you’ll probably find me wandering the aisles of Target — AirPods in, coffee in hand — listening to true crime podcasts or brainstorming my next episode. My love for storytelling and curiosity about the “why” behind every case are what drive me to bring these stories to light with empathy and depth.
My husband and I met in middle school, started dating in high school, and we’ve been best friends ever since. We share our home with our two spoiled pups, Penny and Luna. As a proud Colorado native, I couldn’t imagine living — or podcasting — anywhere else.
Hi, I’m Kori! I’m married to my wonderful wife, Kandis, and we’ve been together for over a decade. We helped raise our cousin Brenda, who’s now grown and thriving — proof that time really does fly! Our home is full of love (and fur) thanks to our two dogs, Benson and Franklin.
Before diving into the world of podcasting, I spent 10 years working at a Sheriff’s Office, then five years with a Bail Bond company before returning to law enforcement. Those experiences gave me a unique perspective on crime, justice, and the human stories behind every case — something I bring to each episode of Colorado Crime.
When I’m not recording, you can usually find me curled up with a good book, playing The Sims (or, as I like to say, “controlling the Sims”), or just relaxing at home with my family. We’re still exploring our new home of Illinois, but my passion for true crime — and uncovering the truth — comes with me wherever I go.
